Banana milk is a great alternative to the regular milk user and person who are lactose intolerant. It is full of nutrition and can be used as a post or pre-workout drink by gym going persons. Banana milk is not a much burden to one’s pocket and easy to make at home.When you in a rush and need a quick boost to your energy, banana milk is the best option. There many variations to banana milk according to one’s preferences and taste. Following is the recipe for 1 serving of banana milk:
- 2 medium-sized bananas
- 2 cup milk
- Cup crushed ice
- Sugar or any sweetener as per taste
- Cutting board
- Blender/ juicer
- 2-3 minutes
Select 2 medium good ripe bananas and peel off. If your blender/juicer is strong enough you do not have to chop it into small pieces. Otherwise, chop into small pieces.
Now put the chopped banana into the blender/juicer. Alternatively, if there is time, you can first freeze the chopped banana pieces to get a creamier texture to your recipe.
Then put crushed ice in the blender/juicer. Ice can be skipped if you do not want a cold drink or is using frozen banana pieces.
After banana and ice, pour milk into the blender/juicer. Any milk can be used as per personal preferences; it may be regular, skimmed, low fat, soy or any other variant.
Now start the blender/juicer, blend all the ingredients for 1-2 minutes to result in a smooth texture. Remember, pour more milk to get a thinner drink or add ice to get a creamier one.
Then add sugar or any other sweetener as per your liking and blend for 10 seconds and taste, repeat until you get the desired result.
Pour it into a tall glass and enjoy the healthy and nourishing drink.
Cleaning of equipment:
Clean the knife and cutting board with the wipes. Use mild water to rinse the blender/juicer.
Never put whole ice cubes straight away in the blender/juicer as it will damage the machine an d may permanently impair it. It is always best to read the operational manual of the blender/juicer to check for useful suggestions and tips.
You can also add other seasonal fruits like strawberries to season the drink. Nuts can be included to enrich the nutrition of the banana milk. Chocolate syrup and honey can also be used as a drink sweetener.
